What a fun week! With of course the field trip being the highlight of the whole week. I think the part the kids enjoyed the most was riding the bus, I bet we could of rode around in it all day and they would have had a blast. The Riverdale students did an amazing job! Many of our crafts centered around Beauty and the Beast this week. Can you believe next week is April? How did this happen? We are hopping on over to our next theme, “Nature All Around Us.” We will continue to explore things about gardens, along with learning about insects. Next Friday we will be having spring pictures, any color would be great except green.Let me know if any of the summer babies would like to celebrate their birthdays before the end of school.
This week we continued our discussion on healthy eating and gardens. Some activities included planting seeds in a cup with our picture on it, hopefully to group some “hair.” We also taped a paper tree up and velcored apples on it and pulled them off to work on our fine-motor skills and as a counting activity. Our whole class loved celebrating World Down Syndrome day on Thursday. Thank you to the Greer and Childers’ families for making it so special.

“Why fit in when you were born to standout!” (Dr. Seuss) This week we mixed in a variety of things, to make it a fantastic week. We had a lot of fun dressing up for Dr. Seuss week, thank you for everyone who participated. This week we started talking about healthy eating and discussing where our food comes from, for instance a garden. We all really enjoyed singing, “In My Garden,” by Raffi; if you would like to sing it with you “littles.” We had a lot of fun talking about St. Patrick’s Day as well and those silly “leprechaun’s,” who messed up our classroom. Seeing the children’s reactions was priceless. I hope you all enjoy your Spring Break!
We had a wonderful week and the best thing we got to go outside three days in a row, that’s a record I don’t think we’ve been able to do that in months. Our class did lots more work with prepositions this week. Most of us also have started some work with sight words. We finished out this week with our last week of “building/ imagination,” we did things such as build numbers out of popsicle sticks and built buildings under, around, below, etc. around a car. Next week we start out topic about “Healthy Eating,” we also will have some fun with St. Patrick’s Day. We will also be dressing up to celebrate Dr. Seuss (See Above). Next Week: -
